Ingredients
500g pack Asda Ready to Roll Shortcrust Pastry
125g Gruyere cheese
400g leeks (trimmed weight)
25g butter
300g pot Asda Crème Fraîche
2 tbsp milk
3 large free-range eggs
Method
1Pre-heat the oven to 200C/180C Fan/Gas 6. Roll out the pastry on a floured surface to the thickness of a 1 pound coin. Use to line a 23cm flan tin. Lay a piece of foil inside and add dried rice or pasta. Bake for 10 minutes, remove the foil and bake for 4 minutes. Reduce the temperature to 180C/160C Fan/Gas 4.
2Cut the leeks into half cm thick slices. Melt the butter in a pan, add the leeks and stir to coat. Cover and cook over a very low heat for 8 minutes. Uncover and cook for 4-5 minutes.
3Lightly beat the crème fraîche, milk and eggs. Stir in the leeks and most of the cheese and season well.
4Pour into the flan case. Sprinkle on the rest of the cheese and bake for 25 minutes or until just set.
