Ingredients
100g Asda White Chocolate Chunks
150g Asda Dark Chocolate (60% cocoa solids), broken into squares
50g Asda Pecan Nuts
150g plain flour
1⁄2 level tsp baking powder
100g butter (at room temperature)
150g caster sugar
1⁄2 tsp vanilla extract
1 large free-range egg
Asda White Piping Icing
Method
1Put the chocolate chunks in the fridge. Pre-heat the oven to 180C/160C Fan/Gas 4. Line two baking trays with non-stick baking paper.
2Microwave the chocolate in a microwavable bowl on defrost for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until melted. Leave until cold but still fluid.
3Break the pecans into small pieces. Sift the flour and baking powder together. With a wooden spoon, beat the butter, sugar and vanilla in a large bowl until creamy.
4Scrape the sides of the bowl with a spatula. Add the egg and beat in.
5Stir in the dark chocolate and flour, and add the nuts and chocolate chunks.
6Put heaped tablespoons of the mixture on the baking trays, leaving a gap between each, and flatten with the back of a spoon. Bake for 12-15 minutes.
7Leave for about 10 minutes so the cookies are still warm but cool enough to handle. Make a hole in each with an apple corer. Leave to cool completely.
8Ice ‘DAD’ on each cookie with the piping and thread a ribbon through the holes.
