Ingredients

75g Asda Stoned Prunes

1 tbsp brandy (or apple juice)

125g butter

50g cocoa, plus extra for dusting

2 large eggs

225g caster sugar

75g macadamia nuts, chopped

¼ tsp Asda Vanilla Extract

75g Asda Self-Raising Flour, sifted

Method

1
Snip the prunes into small pieces, about the size of a pea – this is easiest with scissors. Mix with the brandy or apple juice and set aside for 30 minutes.
2
Line a 20cm shallow square cake tin with baking paper. Pre-heat the oven to 180C/160C Fan/Gas 4.
3
Gently melt the butter in a small pan. Stir in the cocoa and set aside.
4
Whisk the eggs and sugar in a bowl until pale. Stir in the snipped prunes and liquid, chopped nuts, cocoa mixture and vanilla extract.
5
Fold in the flour until evenly mixed (don’t overmix or you’ll spoil the texture). Turn into the tin, level the top and bake for 30-35 minutes (30 minutes will give you brownies with a moist, squidgy middle; 35 minutes will give a cakey texture.
6
Cool in the tin for 15 minutes, then finish cooling on a wire rack. Dust with cocoa powder and cut into squares to serve.
