Ingredients

500g pack puff pastry

Flour, for rolling out

1 egg, beaten

300g pouch Asda Extra Special Crème pâtissière

Selection of sliced fruit, such as raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, grapes

4 tbsp apricot jam

Method

1
Pre-heat the oven to 200C/180C Fan/Gas 6. On a floured surface, roll out the pastry to a rectangle, 20cm x 35cm. Trim the edges. Put on a baking tray.
2
Using the back of a knife, mark a 1cm boarder by cutting halfway through the pastry. Prick the inside base with a fork. Decorate the boarder with light slashes made with a knife, then brush with the egg. Bake for 25 minutes. Leave on a wire rack to cool.
3
Gently press down the centre and spread with the crème pâtissière. Arrange the fruit alternately in neat rows on top.
4
In a pan, melt the jam with 2 tsp water, then push it through a sieve to remove any solid bits. Brush it over the fruit for a shiny glaze.
