Ingredients
2 tbsp cocoa powder, plus extra for dusting
200g Asda self-raising flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
150g caster sugar
Butter, for greasing
2 large free-range eggs
2 tbsp golden syrup
200ml whole milk
200ml sunflower oil
Icing sugar, for dusting
200ml sachet Asda Extra Special Belgian Chocolate Sauce, to serve
Cream, to serve
Method
1Pre-heat the oven to 180C/160C Fan/Gas 4. Sift the cocoa, flour, baking powder and bicarbonate of soda into a large bowl and add the caster sugar. Butter an ovenproof dish and dust the inside of it with cocoa powder.
2In another bowl, whisk the eggs, golden syrup and half the milk together until evenly blended. Add the rest of the milk and the oil. Then pour the mixture into the dry ingredients and whisk to make a smooth batter.
3Pour into the ovenproof dish and bake for 25-30 minutes until the pudding is puffed up and firm on top. Test by sticking a skewer in the middle – if it comes out clean, the pudding is cooked.
4Dust with icing sugar and serve warm with cream and chocolate sauce.
