Ingredients
700g cauliflower florets
200g self-raising flour
1 large egg
200ml milk
Oil for frying
Method
1Break the cauliflower florets into small pieces. Steam or boil until just tender, then drain and cool.
2Mix the flour, egg and milk until you have a thick batter. Stir in the cauliflower pieces to coat.
3Heat the oil in a large frying pan and drop in tablespoons of the mixture one at a time – take care not to overcrowd the pan. Cook in batches for 3-4 minutes each side.
