Ingredients
2 eggs, beaten
170g Asda Authentic Greek Yogurt
1tbsp vanilla bean paste
100g unsalted butter, melted, plus extra for greasing
200g caster sugar
300g plain flour
1tsp baking powder
1tsp bicarbonate of soda
150g fondant icing sugar
Food colouring gel in pink and blue
Asda White Chocolate Stars sprinkles
Dr. Oetker Super Hero Sprinkles
Method
1Preheat the oven to 200C/180C Fan/Gas 6.
2In a large bowl, stir together the eggs, yogurt, vanilla paste, melted butter and sugar. Sift in the caster sugar, flour, baking powder and bicarbonate of soda, then mix to a smooth batter.
3Lightly grease a ring doughnut tin or muffin tin with the extra butter. Half-fill each hole with batter and bake for about 12 mins until risen and slightly browned.
4Remove from the oven and leave to cool in the tin for 10 mins before transferring to a wire rack to cool fully. Repeat until you have 24 baked doughnuts.
5To decorate, mix the fondant icing sugar with 1 or 2tbsp water in a bowl until it is a thick white paste – thin with a little more water if necessary. Divide the icing between 3 bowls – leave one white, colour another with a few drops of pink food colour gel and the final one with a few drops of blue.
6Dip 8 doughnuts into the pink icing. Dip 8 more into the blue, and the remaining 8 into the white. Scatter with sprinkles and allow the icing to set completely before serving the doughnuts.
