Ingredients
160g unsalted butter, at room temperature, plus extra to grease
160g white sugar
3 eggs
1tsp vanilla essence
180g plain flour
1tsp baking powder
2tbsp semi-skimmed milk
2tbsp Asda Hazelnut Chocolate Spread
Method
1Grease a 20cm round cake tin with butter and line with baking paper. Preheat the air fryer to 160ºC.
2Place the butter and sugar in a large bowl and beat them together with an electric whisk until pale and fluffy. Crack in the eggs and whisk them well. Scrape the sides of the bowl and whisk again. Add the vanilla essence and mix well.
3Sift the flour and baking powder into the bowl and whisk briefly until just combined. Fold in the milk gently using a spatula.
4Pour the mixture into the prepared tin, then add the hazelnut chocolate spread in two dollops on each side of the cake mix. Use a skewer to swirl the chocolate into the cake batter, but don’t over-mix.
5Place the tin in the air fryer basket and air fry for 30-35 mins, until a skewer inserted in the middle of the cake comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool in the tin for 10 mins before serving with custard, if you like.
