Ingredients

1 x 500g packet Asda White Bread Mix

3tbsp baking powder

2 lightly beaten egg yolks

A pinch of rock salt

Method

1
Make up Asda White Bread Mix according to the pack instructions.
2
Once you have kneaded the mix, divide into 6 balls. Roll each ball into a long, thin sausage and shape into pretzels. Place on two baking trays lined with nonstick baking paper. Leave to prove for 15-20 mins.
3
Preheat the oven to 200C/ 180C Fan/Gas 6. Place baking powder in a large pan with 1.5L of boiling water. Bring up to the boil, reduce heat and simmer. Add the pretzels to the water – one or two at a time – and simmer for 1 min.
4
Remove with a draining spoon and return to the baking paper. Brush the pretzels with egg yolks and sprinkle with a little rock salt. Bake for 10-15 mins until golden brown.
5
Allow to cool – serve warm or cold.
