Ingredients

1 pack Asda Mini Chocolate Orange Hot Cross Buns

100g dark chocolate, chopped into small pieces, plus an extra square to grate (optional)

1 orange, finely grated zest only, plus extra to decorate (optional)

75g white mini marshmallows

Method

Preheat the oven to 180°/160°C fan/gas 4. Line a wide flat baking tray with a piece of baking paper.

Use a sharp bread knife to carefully cut the whole pack of hot cross buns in half horizontally. Lay the bottom half on the lined baking tray, then evenly scatter over the dark chocolate and top with orange zest. Distribute the marshmallows evenly across the bun halves.

Bake for 20–22 mins, until the marshmallows are soft and melted and starting to turn golden brown. Carefully remove from the oven and put the top halves of the buns on top. Return to the oven until the buns are warmed through and slightly crispy around the edges, about 6–8 mins.

Transfer to a serving dish and top with extra orange zest and grated chocolate, if you like.
