Ingredients
550g ASDA Just Essentials Chicken Thighs, diced
170g ASDA Just Essentials Brown Onions, Sliced
21g ASDA Just Essentials Garlic, Minced
2Tbsp ASDA Just Essentials Plain Flour
300g ASDA Just Essentials Carrots, Peeled & Diced
75g ASDA Cooking Bacon, Diced
157ml ASDA Just Essentials Long Life Skimmed Milk
1 stock cube dissolved into 300ml amount of water
250g ASDA Just Essentials Spaghetti
Method
1Place a large saucepan over a medium to high heat, add in 1 tablespoon of oil and fry off the diced chicken thighs until browned.
2Next gently fry off the bacon, onions, carrots and garlic around 7 - 10 minutes in the same saucepan.
3Once the bacon and chicken is just about cooked and the onions are soft and caramelised, remove the mix from the saucepan and return to the heat.
4Add the remaining table spoon of oil along with 2 tablespoons of plain flour, work the flour and oil into a roux like paste in the saucepan over a medium heat for around 3 - 5 minutes.
5Next gently add in the milk in small amounts, vigorously whisking as you do so.
6Once all the milk is in allow the base sauce to cook out for 3 minutes before adding in the stock.
7Continue to whisk the sauce as it cooks to prevent catching and lumps forming.
8Once the sauce has fully cooked out, toss the cooked chicken, bacon & vegetables back in.
9Allow to simmer away whilst you cook the spaghetti as per pack instructions, then serve.
