Ingredients

25g Asda Brilliantly Buttery Spread

4 slices seeded bread

100g blackberries

4 fresh basil leaves (optional)

100g Gruyère, grated

Method

1
Butter each slice of bread on one side and lay 2 of them on a breadboard, butter side down. Crush the blackberries very lightly and divide equally between the two slices. Scatter with a few torn basil leaves (if using) and season to taste.
2
Top with the grated Gruyère and the remaining slices of bread – butter sides out. Press down lightly to make sure the sandwiches will stick together well.
3
Heat a heavy-based frying pan until hot and fry the sandwiches for 2-3 mins each side or until the cheese is starting to melt. (Don’t add oil to the pan as the butter will grease it.)
4
Slice the sandwiches in half and serve immediately.
