Scare up a summer treat with this cute character, filled with refreshing watermelon slushie

<p>We're always up for getting creative with our food, so we had to give this fun trend a go. All you need is a watermelon and a couple of small, dark fruits &ndash; and voilà, you've created a mouth-watering masterpiece.</p><p>Make your own scary summer treat by following the steps below &ndash; and don't forget to tag @asda and #GetYourCookOn on Insta when you do!</p><p style="text-align: center;"><img alt="img_31335__square" class="ci-image ci-square" src="https://ui3.assets-asda.com/dm/img_31335__square_GL?scl=1"></p><h2>what you need</h2><ul><li>1 large watermelon</li><li>2 large blueberries (can swap out for another dark fruit, like black olives or grapes)</li></ul><p> </p><h2>step-by-step</h2><ol><li>Make sure you have a solid surface to work on. Wash and dry a large watermelon, then put on a chopping board.</li><li>Find the more pointed ‘top&rsquo; end of the watermelon. Hold this steady and use a large, sharp knife* to slice off the bottom quarter of the melon, at a slight diagonal. You need to create a flat base, with the top &ndash; which will form the shark&rsquo;s snout &ndash; pointing up at an angle. Reserve the cut-off piece to make the fin.</li><li>Stand the watermelon up on its cut side, then use the tip of a metal skewer to mark a mouth shape &ndash; this should be fairly large, but with enough space both above and below it for teeth about 3-5cm long. Using the line as a guide, remove a wedge of the melon &ndash; scoop out the flesh from the wedge and discard the rind. Your shark now has a large, open mouth.</li><li>To make watermelon slush, use a spoon to scoop most of the red flesh out of the melon &ndash; leave a 2cm-thick layer in place for colour and to make sure your shark is sturdy. Freeze all the scooped-out flesh in freezer bags for 3-4 hrs. (If time is short, or if you prefer fresh watermelon, you can remove the red flesh with a melon baller or spoon.) </li><li>Meanwhile, for the teeth, mark lines 3-5cm above and below the mouth-opening, following its shape. With a small, sharp knife, trim off the green outer peel to reveal the softer white rind beneath it &ndash; take care not to cut too deeply.</li><li>Carefully cut triangular pieces out of the white rind to create sharp, pointed teeth.</li><li>Mark the position of the shark&rsquo;s eyes with a skewer, then cut shallow ‘sockets&rsquo; to hold them &ndash; an apple corer is ideal for this, or use a small knife. For the eyes, use 2 large blueberries (or black olives, or grapes), secured in place with cocktail sticks. </li><li>Cut a fin shape from the reserved melon base and secure to the back of the shark with cocktail sticks.</li><li>Transfer the shark to a serving tray or platter &ndash; bonus points if it&rsquo;s ocean blue! For the slush, wrap the bags of frozen watermelon in a clean tea towel and bash with a rolling pin to crush. Fill the mouth with the slush &ndash; or fresh watermelon, if using.
