Queen Elizabeth’s 90th Birthday Celebrations finished with a flourish

<p>The official 90th birthday celebrations for Queen Elizabeth II came to a close over the weekend with Her Majesty&rsquo;s official birthday parade, Trooping the Colour.</p><p>And although the celebrations centred around our queen, it was a far younger member of the royal family who stole the show. Fulfilling her first public duty, Princess Charlotte was in good spirits throughout the festivities and wore an adorable pink smock dress and bow while she gave her first royal wave to the adoring public. Although, we think she may have picked up some of her brother&rsquo;s mischievous personality as, clearly dissatisfied with the noise of the Royal Air Force planes flying overhead, she covered her ears during the special performance. </p><p>Not one to be outdone, Prince George succeeded in wriggling free from his father&rsquo;s grip to the edge of the balcony before his family pulled him back. According to sources, George was extremely excited for the big day and was so thrilled by the show that his family had to persuade him to go back inside the palace afterwards.</p><p>Of course, the newest members of the royal family weren't the only thing to catch the crowd&rsquo;s attention. Usually one for a pastel palette, the Queen opted for a more eye-catching neon green outfit for the parade. Beginning with The Queen taking a carriage ride from the Palace to Horse Guards Parade and including a 40-strong floatilla by the Royal row barge Gloriana and Dunkirk Little Ships, a 62-gun salute, almost 1,500 officers and their men, more than 300 horses and a band birthday serenade of Happy Birthday To You and Long Live Elizabeth, the Queen was more than a little busy.
