<p>For years the phrase ‘man's best friend&rsquo; has been used to describe the close relationship that dogs and humans share.</p><p>And any dog owner will know that no matter how sad or upset you are, your pooch is always there to show you some love and affection, and cheer you up on a rainy day. </p><p>But have you ever noticed that forlorn look your dog gets when you pop out for five minutes?
