‘Congratulations’ was the buzzword of the night as TV stars flocked to the glitzy and glamorous National Television Awards 2017.

The stars of the small screen came together at London’s O2 on Wednesday night (January 25) to celebrate all our favourite television series, performances and TV judges.

Presiding over the awards was Dermot O'Leary, who presented a rather stunned Mary Berry with the TV judge prize of the year for her role in The Great British Bake Off.

The 81-year-old, who was cheered on by the audience, took to the stage before accepting the award and said: "I'm thrilled ... I love judging, it has always been a great honour.

"But the greatest reward is that all the young are baking and everybody is sitting down at 8pm, the whole family: Gran, the baby in arms.

"There is no swearing, it's the best programme, and I'm so grateful, and thank you very much."

And of course, there were no surprises when the lovable duo Ant and Dec scooped the entertainment programme prize, for their show Saturday Night Takeaway.

Ant said: “It really is our baby and, it's a bit of a shock first award up, but what a thrill."

Dec added: "Thank you, thank you so much, thank you to all of the talented clever people that stand behind us here and come up with all the ideas and all that. We have such fun doing it and thrilled you like watching it.

"We're back at the end of February for another run."

Other winners of the night include Channel 4's Gogglebox, which took home the gong in the factual entertainment category, Graham Norton received the special recognition award for his 20-year stint in the spotlight and Mrs Brown's Boys won the accolade of best comedy programme.
