<p>Meryl Streep &ndash; recently labelled “one of the most over-rated actresses in Hollywood” by President Trump &ndash; has just become the first ever person to be nominated for 20 Academy Awards (the official term for the Oscars).</p><p>The Hollywood actress broke her own record for most Oscar nominations, when she was shortlisted in the Best Actress category for her role in comedy drama Florence Foster Jenkins, in which she plays a tone deaf opera singer.</p><center><iframe allowfullscreen class="giphy-embed" frameborder="0" height="480" src="//giphy.com/embed/l3vReBMrSRlN4Zv2g" width="480"></iframe></center><p>This is the 20th nomination for Streep, adding to her tally of most acting Oscar nominations for a single person.</p><p>Her 20 nominations include 16 for actress in a leading role and four for supporting actress. </p><p>To put this into perspective, Katharine Hepburn and Jack Nicholson follow with 12 nominations each. </p><p>Looks like the Academy doesn't think Meryl Streep is overrated. </p><center><p><iframe allowfullscreen class="giphy-embed" frameborder="0" height="323" src="//giphy.com/embed/mtlwOSac6agE0" width="480"></iframe></p></center><p>Meryl Streep was nominated in the Best Actress category alongside Isabelle Huppert, Ruth Negga, Natalie Portman and Emma Stone.</p><p>And this wasn&rsquo;t the only record to broken at this year's Oscars; La La Land is now the most nominated film of all time.   </p><p>Best Picture, Best Director, and TWO Best Original Songs are included in La La Land's incredible sixteen nominations, and Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling are both nominated for Best Actress / Best Actor.</p><p>If director Damien Chazelle wins Best Director for La La Land, he will be the youngest person ever to win the accolade.</p><center><iframe allowfullscreen class="giphy-embed" frameborder="0" height="198" src="//giphy.com/embed/3oz8xwpOBlKYiq2pyg" width="480"></iframe></center>
