Or rather, his alter-ego has.Fans were left flabbergasted yesterday when the BBC unveiled what's been dubbed by bookies William Hill as its ‘best-kept secret&rsquo; - that Friends star Matt LeBlanc would be joining Chris Evans as Top Gear's newest co-host. The new recruit proves that the BBC is going for a more international and female appeal with its new series. And it&rsquo;s working, with women everywhere taking to social media to declare their interest in watching!Matt will be the first non-British host ever in the show's 39-year history. However, he's no stranger to the show, having appeared on the original Top Gear in 2012 and setting the fastest-ever time for the 'Star in a Reasonably Priced Car' segment - which still remains unbeaten. We can't wait to share what we've been up to on screen later this year.'According to the BBC, Matt's joining production on the new series of Top Gear right now, and with the last series of his Golden Globe winning BBC2 show Episodes set to start filming in April, it looks like Matt has got a busy few months ahead. While the appointment has divided the public, the funniest reactions were those by diehard Friend's fans, who thought that the Top Gear bosses obviously hadn't taken his alter-ego Joey's history with cars into account.
