<p>It has been one of the most talked-about movies of the year, and for good reason: La La Land is a spectacular production, complete with a stellar cast, excellent musical score and gorgeous, sunny backdrop.</p><p>And now we can get excited about it all over again as the DVD is here! The pair had collaborated on Chazelle's last film 'Whiplash'; the director being a drummer himself, he knows his stuff, and <a href="https://groceries.asda.com/product/compilation-cds/cd-la-la-land-omp-soundtrack-by-various-artists/910003043770" target="_blank">La La Land's soundtrack</a> won a lot of accolades. </p><p><center></p><p><img alt class="ci-image ci-original" src="https://ui3.assets-asda.com/dm/lalalandsoundtrack_GL?scl=1"></center></p><h2>Beautiful setting</h2><p>Aware that sprawling Los Angeles doesn't have the charm or romance of somewhere like Paris, the director wanted to focus on the things that make it distinctive - the skies, notorious traffic and how the city is spread out. That's not to say that the film's backdrop isn't something - shooting locations included the <a href="http://griffithobservatory.org/" target="_blank">Griffith Obsevatory</a> (with its views of the Hollywood Hills), <a href="http://www.grandcentralmarket.com/" target="_blank">Grand Central Market</a> and <a href="http://www.chateaumarmont.com/" target="_blank">Chateau Marmont hotel</a>. </p><p><center></p><p><img alt class="ci-image ci-hero" src="https://ui3.assets-asda.com/dm/istock-market-la-web__square_GL?scl=1"></center></p><h2>Fantastic choreography </h2><p>The film's choreographer, Mandy Moore (not to be confused with the actress of the same name) did a brilliant job with the stars' dance scenes. She has worked on films including Joy, American Hustle and Silver Linings Playbook - but La La Land was the biggest challenge to date. It's hard to think of many good musicals from the last few years - and there certainly hasn't been much out there to rival classics like Grease or West Side Story.
