Tissues at the ready!
When a book can make you cry tears of joy and sorrow at the same time, you know you’re reading a winner.
So when we heard that bestselling author Jojo Moyes, who wrote the amazing Me Before You, was writing a third Louisa Clark book, we started stockpiling the tissues.
The third book in the series, which is yet untitled, will see Lou will travel to New York where she’ll ‘find herself torn between her old life and her new’.
Speaking about the upcoming book to Stylist, Moyes said, ”I always knew that once I committed to write the sequel to Me Before You I would also write a third book; I saw it quite clearly as a trilogy.
“Revisiting Lou has been a joy, as I push her into a completely new country, a brand new world, and a house full of secrets.
“With her usual blend of humour and emotion she has to ask herself some pretty fundamental questions - not least which side of the Atlantic does she really belong?
"I hope readers enjoy this new adventure as much as I’ve enjoyed writing it.”
The author's big-hearted, five-million-copy bestseller Me Before You, which hit the shelves in 2012 and was later made into a film in 2016, tells the relationship between quadriplegic Will Traynor who was a successful businessman and his 26-year-old carer Louisa Clark.
Will, who was full of life and happiness, had a motorcycle accident which took away his desire to live. He's now rude and abrupt and everything for him now feels joyless.
While Lou, is zany, chatty, and kind to all those that she meets.
At first, the pair clash as Lou tries to show him the joy in his existence, but then the pair go on to form a close friendship...
The second book, After You, which has sold over five million copies so far, follows Lou’s struggles to come to terms with her loss and forge a new life in London.
