Lift and gently tousle the roots with your fingertips to help aid drying time and reduce flatness.”</p><p><h2>Say no to the hairbrush</h2></p><p><img alt="woman_combing_her_hair__hero" class="ci-image ci-hero" src="https://ui3.assets-asda.com/dm/woman_combing_her_hair__hero_GL?scl=1"></p><p>Sam said: “Bristle brushes on wet hair disturb the placement and structure of the hair, resulting in excess frizz. Work through the hair with your fingertips or a <a href="https://groceries.asda.com/product/hair-brushes-combs/andrew-barton-shiny-happy-hair-strictly-no-knots-detangle-comb/910000479500" target="_blank">wide tooth comb</a> for the most natural finish and to ensure curls and waves stay in place.”</p><p><h2>Making waves</h2></p><p><img alt="woman_with_curly_hair_on_a_beach__hero" class="ci-image ci-hero" src="https://ui3.assets-asda.com/dm/woman_with_curly_hair_on_a_beach__hero_GL?scl=1"><br>Sam said: “Braid, plait or twist your hair around a bun before you go to bed when it's 50% dry. You can play around with sizes and placement of the plaits or bun to determine the type of wave or curl."</p><p><h2>Tie it up</h2></p><p><img alt="woman_with_ponytail__hero" class="ci-image ci-hero" src="https://ui3.assets-asda.com/dm/woman_with_ponytail__hero_GL?scl=1"></p><p>Sam said: "For 80s inspired curls, using strips of cloth, split damp hair into two sections. Grasp the ends of the hair with the cloth folded over it, curling the hair around the cloth towards the scalp. Tie the cloth in a knot and repeat this around the entire head.
