It kind of just worked.</p><p>“I like mine, because at least I&rsquo;m scaring people before I&rsquo;ve even walked in the room so watch out.”</p><p><iframe allowfullscreen class="giphy-embed" frameborder="0" height="360" src="//giphy.com/embed/XYGWLWsb5fEc0" width="480"></iframe></p><p><a href="https://giphy.com/gifs/spice-girls-XYGWLWsb5fEc0">via GIPHY</a></p><p>Mel, who is the new star of '<em>Chicago'</em> on Broadway, also went into a bit of history of how the band was formed all those years ago in 1994. </p><p>She said: "The actual real original story is that there was an original audition for a girl group.</p><p>“The guy wouldn&rsquo;t sign us, so us five kind of selected ourselves together. We worked on our music and created our first and second album by promising people that we&rsquo;d pay them back.</p><p><iframe allowfullscreen frameborder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/ApaX7bE_j3k" width="560"></iframe></p><p>She added: “And we never did.”</p><p>The star said they then found their former manager, Simon Fuller, and the whole band ‘erupted&rsquo;. They went on to have 9 UK Number 1s, 10 UK top 10s and spent a whopping 184 weeks in the top 75.</p>
