The rising Insta star has put her spin on this season's most coveted athleisure trend 

Music and fashion go hand in hand and if there's anyone who understands that, it's Instagram influencer, singer-songer writer and rising star, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/afriqqa/" target="_blank">Hari Priya</a>.The 23-year-old, who works as a supply teacher and fits in her music career around this, can't get enough of this season's biggest streetwear trend, <a href="https://direct.asda.com/george/women/athleisure/D1M14G1C8,default,sc.html?cmpid=ahc-_-geor-_-asdacom-_-hp-_-content-4-_-activewear#https://direct.asda.com/george/women/athleisure/D1M14G1C8,default,sc.html?cmpid=ahc-_-geor-_-asdacom-_-hp-_-content-4-_-activewear" target="_blank">athleisure</a>. The focus is on laid-back, sporty pieces that lend a casual feel to your off-duty wardrobe, whether you&rsquo;re working out or chillaxing. "Main fashion influencers these days, like Rihanna and Kylie Jenner, are wearing it a lot and people everywhere are trying to recreate that."I don&rsquo;t go to the gym nearly as often as I&rsquo;d like to but I still love activewear. I&rsquo;m genuinely happy that it&rsquo;s a big trend, because it's so comfortable."So who better to model our new <a href="https://direct.asda.com/george/women/athleisure/D1M14G1C8,default,sc.html?cmpid=ahc-_-geor-_-asdacom-_-hp-_-content-4-_-activewear#https://direct.asda.com/george/women/athleisure/D1M14G1C8,default,sc.html?start=0&sz=20" target="_blank">athleisure collection</a>? <img alt="leggings-and-jumper" class="ci-image ci-original" src="https://ui3.assets-asda.com/dm/leggings-and-jumper_GL?scl=1" style="height: 534px; width: 800px;">We spoke to Hari Priya about her favourite items from our new collection, her music career, and what it was like performing Nala in The Lion King.What is your daily go-to outfit?My standard outfit is jeans, trainers and sometimes a nice top, jumper or T-shirt. Or if I&rsquo;m feeling fancy maybe some heels, but even then it will be a casual outfit with maybe a red lip. I feel like that jazzes things up.What do you think of the new George athleisure collection and what was your favourite look? "Working on the campaign was literally the best thing ever. My favourite outfit was definitely the <a href="https://direct.asda.com/george/women/leggings/faux-leather-leggings/GEM584371,default,pd.html" target="_blank">black wet look leggings</a> and <a href="https://direct.asda.com/george/women/jumpers-cardigans/slouchy-jumper/GEM612756,default,pd.html" target="_blank">lime green jumper</a> (pictured below). I love anything that's brightly coloured and the leggings were just such a good fit.<img alt="hari-priya-in-green-outfit" class="ci-image ci-original" src="https://ui3.assets-asda.com/dm/hari-priya-in-green-outfit_GL?scl=1" style="height: 601px; width: 900px;">"There was also this <a href="https://direct.asda.com/george/women/jumpers-cardigans/lightweight-hoodie-pink/GEM606126,default,pd.html" target="_blank">pink jumper dress</a> (below) which I was excited about because you can wear it with trainers! You could also jazz it up with over-the-knee boots if you're going to a gig; that would look pretty cool." What would you wear in the studio?"In the studio I&rsquo;ll be really comfortable. I will literally go in trackies because you have some sessions which are 12 hours long sometimes. It&rsquo;s not often for me but it can happen." When did you get start getting into music? "My dad&rsquo;s really musical so I&rsquo;ve always had an interest and an ear for music. He&rsquo;s actually a jazz musician so he always played his saxophone in the house and busked. When I was really little I was in The Lion King as little Nala. I have to say it was the best time of my life. I&rsquo;ve always been into music - my mum is a die-hard (as I am now) Michael Jackson fan and she is one of those people that blasts music when she is cooking and cleaning. So we&rsquo;ve always been a singing and dancing musical household."<img alt="hari-priya-in-pink-jumper-dress" class="ci-image ci-original" src="https://ui3.assets-asda.com/dm/hari-priya-in-pink-jumper-dress_GL?scl=1" style="height: 634px; width: 900px;">When did you start writing songs? "I started writing songs unofficially when I was about six or seven. I'd run around the playground and sing random things - I still do that sometimes. When I was about 11 my dad released an album and he let me sing on one of the tracks with one of the songs which I had written. That was my first time in the studio, I was so, so excited."What sort of music do you like? "I like anything soulful and I&rsquo;m trying to recreate that, in a more modern way in my own music. I like Lauryn Hill, Alicia Keys and Aretha Franklin. It's quite a mission to find the right ingredients you need to make a great song, which also combines what you&rsquo;re into, mixed with what people like and what&rsquo;s current. I guess that's what equals a hit, which I&rsquo;m still working on." Have you had any professional voice training? "I&rsquo;ve had no professional training and I really, really want some. Sometimes I get people asking me if I can teach them and I&rsquo;m like, 'are you joking? I want some singing lessons!'"I know there are certain things I haven&rsquo;t got the hang of like my breathing and articulation.
