Find out what's going to happen in series 2

One of the most talked about dramas of last year, which had us all on the edge of our seats, is making a comeback - and it's going to be set two years on from the nail-biting series one finale. Doctor Foster series 2 will be returning to our screens next year (hooray!), telling the next chapter in the life of a scorned woman and GP Gemma Foster.Talking to <a href="http://www.digitalspy.com/tv/doctor-foster/feature/a780002/doctor-foster-series-2-date-dr-foster-second-series-release-start-bbc-suranne-jones-spoilers-cast-tv-review/" target="_blank">Digital Spy</a>, Suranne Jones, who plays the married mother of one, Gemma, said the new episodes are set to explore "what happens to a woman after divorce, deceit and revenge has taken its toll.”Last year we had our heart in mouths as we watched Gemma discover that her property developer husband Simon, (played by Bertie Carvel) was having an affair.<img alt="dr_foster" class="ci-image ci-original" src="https://ui3.assets-asda.com/dm/dr_foster_GL?scl=1">As the plot unravelled in the five-part series we found out that Simon was having an affair with one of Gemma&rsquo;s patients - a young girl called Kate, who was pregnant with his child.In a jaw-dropping scene, Gemma announced this fact while sitting down to dinner with everybody &ndash; including Kate&rsquo;s parents.So what can we expect from series two, you ask?Well, according to Mike Bartlett, writer and creator of the show, ‘no one comes through hell unscathed&rsquo;.He said: “I'm thrilled that alongside Drama Republic and the phenomenal Suranne Jones, we're now going to tell the next chapter in Gemma's story.“Her life in Parminster may look better on the surface, but as she will discover to her cost, every action has its consequences eventually.”<img alt="dr_foster-2" class="ci-image ci-original" src="https://ui3.assets-asda.com/dm/dr_foster-2_GL?scl=1">Jodie Comer, who plays Kate, told <a href="http://www.digitalspy.com/tv/doctor-foster/feature/a780002/doctor-foster-series-2-date-dr-foster-second-series-release-start-bbc-suranne-jones-spoilers-cast-tv-review/" target="_blank">Digital Spy</a>: "The amazing thing about series one was the build-up.
