From Matilda's book tower to The BFG's snozzcumber Swiss roll...

<p>Big occasions call for big cakes. And we're celebrating <a href="https://www.worldbookday.com/" target="_blank">World Book Day</a> with some amazing book-themed bakes! </p><p>From Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to James and the Giant Peach, Roald Dahl certainly knew how to weave food into his stories. The fudgey chocolate cake in Matilda has captured the imaginations of kids (and adults) for decades, and who hasn't wished that Everlasting Gobstoppers really existed?</p><p>JK Rowling brought us wonderfully imaginative treats in Harry Potter (who could forget butter beer, or every-flavour jelly beans?). And, of course, Alice in Wonderland has inspired countless 'Mad Hatter' themed tea parties. </p><p>If you want to celebrate your favourite book with a spectacular cake, or just a simple snack, boy do we have some ideas for you...</p><h2>Harry potter sorting hat muffins</h2><p>How cute are <a href="https://www.asda.com/good-living/recipe/harry-potter-sorting-hat-muffins" target="_blank">these muffins</a>? The (talking) Sorting Hat in Harry Potter assigns each and every student to a different house &ndash; hence the fillings of these cupcakes reference the Hogwarts house colours. Resembling a cucumber with its striped, warty appearance, the Snozzcumber is described by Sophie as tasting of frogskin and rotten fish, while the BFG likens the taste to cockroaches. When sliced up it's said to have slimy, putrid flesh and lots of seeds. Grim.
