<p>It's the organisational hack that has been taking the internet by storm but if you haven't heard of bullet journaling yet then get ready - it might just change your life.</p><p>Part diary and part planner, a bullet journal is essentially a personalised note taking system. Created by Brooklyn-based designer <a href="http://bulletjournal.com/" target="_blank">Ryder Carroll</a>, this customised organisational tool is essentially just a notebook where you can write down your thoughts, plans, tasks, reminders and more - all while engaging your creative side. While bullet journaling is highly customisable and can be tailored to fit your needs, there are a few guidelines that can help you get started.</p><ul><li>The Index: This is the first few pages of your notebook and will be your point of reference for the rest of the journal. It's essentially like a table of contents and where you record the page numbers of your book so that you don't waste any time fumbling through the journal to find things.</li><li>The Future Log: This is where you jot down things that need to be planned months in advance or even just those things that you would like to get around to doing someday in the future.</li><li>The Monthly Log: A monthly calendar where you can include all the things you need to get done that month - a bird&rsquo;s eye view of monthly tasks.</li><li>The Daily Log: Here you write down tasks, events and notes for the day in short bulleted sentences. </li></ul><p><br>Tasks that aren't completed in one day or month are then 'migrated' into the next calendar. There's also space for 'collections' where you can put related tasks or thoughs (like a shopping list or book titles you want to read). Confused?
