We have a gorgeous array of red wines to choose from, covering everything from the full-bodied robustness of Châteauneuf-du-Pape to lighter options such as the cranberry notes of our Côte de Beaune Villages, perfect for leisurely Sunday lunches or a quiet evening in front of the fire.
This wine has complex notes of red cherry, balsamic and leather, with touches of cranberry and undertones of savoury earth and wild herbs, with a medium weight on the palate. Works wonderfully with pork or game, as well as rich pasta sauces.
Notes of violet and vanilla lead to a full-bodied but smooth finish on the palate with blueberry and red plum flavours following through and touches of toast and spice to close. Perfect when served at room temperature with red meat, so try it with a dry-aged fillet steak, your Sunday roast lamb, or a beef Wellington on Christmas Day.
A beautiful mix of red cherry and cranberry fruit with savoury notes of truffle, musk and toasted spice. Ideal as a lighter red to serve alongside the Christmas turkey, or with game or wild-mushroom dishes – the perfect late-autumn/early-winter drop!
The most popular red wine choice for Christmas Day, rich sumptuous red cherry and dried-fruit flavours come with a smooth texture, hints of earth and herbs with a long, gentle, spicy finish. Perfect with pork, especially richer cuts like spiced pork belly or gammon or slow-cooked meat dishes.
The arrival of winter doesn’t always mean wine drinkers default to reds. White wine still has so much to offer during the colder months and is the perfect partner to your Christmas turkey, seafood starter, or a chunk of cheddar from the cheeseboard at the end of the day.
Complex with notes of struck flint and green apple with crisp citrus flavours and a long, classic mineral finish. Serve yours chilled with smoked salmon, seafood or chicken dishes for a wine match made in heaven.
The perfect white to serve with turkey, this chardonnay is rich but gentle with apple, peach and melon flavours, and a rounded texture complete with hints of honey, butter and cream on the finish. A happy match with poultry or salmon dishes.
Rosé’s a summer drink, right? Wrong! In fact, it works so well with poultry and pork, it could be a great one to keep in the fridge to serve with your Christmas lunch, Boxing Day gammon, or leftover-turkey and ham pie!
Notes of wild strawberry and red cherry on the nose with bright red-berry flavours and touches of spice and musk for a long, refreshing finish. A versatile wine that goes as well with salmon as it does with lighter meats such as chicken or pork.
’Tis the season for celebrating and a bottle of bubbles is an absolute must! Not all sparkling wines are made equal, so let us help you choose the perfect fizz for the occasion, whether you’re after something gentle you can linger over or want a drop that’s livelier, to start the party with a proper pop.
If you’re thinking of treating yourself to a glass of champers this winter, try this great-value grower’s Champagne, made by a husband-and-wife team in France’s Marne Valley. Exhibiting cleansing citrus and apple freshness with a soft mouthfeel, this Champagne is great served on its own, but is equally at home with salmon, turkey or lobster – if you’re feeling extra fancy!
Vintage Champagne is made only during the best growing years and from the very best grapes and is significantly more expensive than the equivalent non-vintage Champagne. This wine boasts rich toasty, red-apple and citrus flavours with a long biscuity finish. Ideal on its own as a celebration, but also lovely when served with rich fish dishes, such as smoked salmon.
This refreshing fizz is the perfect party Prosecco, with white-flower aromas and candied pear and apple flavours. Serve chilled alongside canapés and other nibbles or enjoy on its own.
Millesimato is a higher quality tier than standard DOC Prosecco and this is a great example made in the brut style, bringing crisper flavours and a more refreshing finish than other Proseccos. Enjoy lovely, lifted apple and pear-blossom notes with lots of pear and white peach flavours on the palate with a gentle but persistent fizz. The ideal party drink or why not try it with spicy dishes?
Not a fan of port? Well, now’s the time to reconsider. It’s the ideal accompaniment to your seasonal cheeseboard or is lovely on its own, sipped at the end of a long day alongside a festive nut selection or a little dark chocolate.
Late bottled vintage ports (or LBVs) are ports that are made to have some of the characteristics of vintage port without the extended ageing process, so they are ready to enjoy at a few years old. As such, they are a great balance of quality and affordability. This is a lovely example with intense notes of baked red and black fruits, plums, prunes and a spicy, warming finish. Perfect with hard cheese, a slice of Christmas cake, or simply to sip at the end of a great meal.
