Bringing Winnie The Pooh to life!
Bringing Winnie The Pooh to life!
Disney seems to have got the bug for turning their classic animated adventures into live-action reboots.
First there was Lily James' real-life Cinderella. Next up, Beauty and the Beast, a tale as old as time, got a thoroughly modern makeover with Emma Watson as Belle and Downton Abbey's Dan Stevens as the Beast (its release is slated for March 2017).
And both Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and The Lion King are in the works.
But the latest reboot news has got us really excited. Because a live action version of Winnie The Pooh is coming!
It promises to be the most challenging of the lot though - how exactly do you bring Winnie, Eeyore and co. to life?
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film - entitled Christopher Robin - will have 'strong elements of magical realism' and will feature a grown-up Christopher as he returns to Hundred Acre Wood and the imaginary world of his childhood.

'Robin has grown out of the joyful imagination he had as a young boy and is now a businessman who prioritises work over his wife and daughter,' the plot summary reads. 'With his home life on the brink, the last thing his life needs is the return of Pooh, who requires his help in finding his friends again. Robin has to find a way to help both sides or risk losing everything he holds dear.'
Poor old Pooh - that bear is always lost.
The director will be Marc Forster, whose previous films include Quantum Of Solace and The Kite Runner. Brigham Taylor, who produced the Jungle Book remake, will also work his magic here.
Disney promises it will be an 'emotional' but ultimately 'heartwarming' journey.
There's currently no planned release date for Christopher Robin and no news on who might play an adult Christopher.
