From collages to sock puppet theatre, check out our favourite ways to keep kids entertained at home

<p>Staying indoors for most of the day can make us all feel a bit stir-crazy &ndash; and if you've got kids, it's even tougher.</p><p>But don't worry, we're here to help! A little creativity goes a long way when it comes to stopping children from getting restless &ndash;  and from karaoke to sock puppets, great entertainment doesn't have to cost the earth, either.</p><p>Read on for 10 fabulously fun ways to fill an afternoon inside with the kids…</p><h2>1. Rock Out With A Steel Band</h2><p>If you don&rsquo;t mind a bit of noise, unleash your rockstars on the kitchen pots and crash and bang your way through the afternoon &ndash; perfect for those rainy days when playing in the garden isn't an option.</p><h2>2. Make a collage </h2><p>Grab a few old magazines, newspapers or catalogues and get cutting and sticking! Kids will love designing their own houses, making a wishlist of things they like, or creating a scene on a piece of paper &ndash; all you need is glue and some imagination. </p><h2>3. Croon With Karaoke</h2><p>It's time to belt out some tunes! Don&rsquo;t have a karaoke machine? There are thousands of videos on YouTube that will let you sing-a-long until you're blue in the face. Make Your Own Sock Puppets</h2><p>Grab an old pair of socks, some glue, bits of ribbon, and odd buttons, then help the kids craft their own unique sock puppets. Once they&rsquo;re happy with their creations, it&rsquo;s showtime! Recline and enjoy a front-row seat at a (very exclusive) theatre production.</p><h2>6. Build Memories With A Time Capsule</h2><p>If you have any jars or unused shoeboxes lying around the house, get your little ones to fill them up with notes, pictures, and objects that they&rsquo;ll want to remember.
